Devin Walker Scores Comeback Win at Bubba Raceway Park

May 26th, 2013 – Ocala, Fl. – Devin Walker is no stranger to overcoming obstacles to win races.  He had to do that again on Saturday night as mechanical issues earlier in the night threatened to put him on the trailer.  Come feature time, the No. 55jr. was in the starting lineup and the 16-year-old was standing in victory lane minutes later.

The youngster climbed out of the car as if he knew all along what the result would be.  His words, however, told quite a different story.

“We had all we could do just to get here tonight after we replaced just about everything in the driveline from last week’s race,” Devin said.  “Then we drove from the back to second in the heat only to have another problem.  We thought we were done but we were able to find the problem, round up parts to fix the car and race the feature.”

Devin started third and took the lead in just three short laps from Brian Morgan.  If it seemed easy taking the lead it surely wasn’t easy to keep it.  “Scotty Kay, Jr. was right on me on the restarts trying to take the lead away,” Devin said.  “But I wasn’t planning to give it up without a fight.  This team worked too hard for me not to give them a win tonight!”

Following up on that thought, Devin continued, saying, “This win is for Momma and Daddy and everyone on the team who never quits believing in me and working hard to keep my racing dream alive.  Thanks to our sponsors and to the fans for coming out tonight.  It was a crazy night and I really enjoyed racing with all the Okeechobee boys!”
