MOORESVILLE, N.C. – After a pending forecast forced CARS Tour officials, for the second time this season, postpone the action at Southern National Motorsports Park over the Labor Day weekend, the series has announced that the season will now end at the four-tenths-mile track on Nov. 12.
The Sophomore season for the CARS Tour kicked off the year on April 3 at Southern National Motorsports Park and saw Deac McCaskill and Quin Houff pick up their sole victories so far this year.
Since that time McCaskill has held the CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour points lead, but Tommy Lemons Jr. is just 12 points back with three events remaining.
Houff, on the other hand, sits third chasing down Brandon Setzer and CARS Super Late Model Tour championship leader and rookie Raphael Lessard. Lessard has a 15-point lead over Setzer and 24-point lead over Houff.
Championship weekend at Southern National will kick off with an optional test day on Nov. 11 followed by race day on Nov. 12. With cooler temperatures expected that time of year qualifying will roll off at 1:15 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. green flag on the season finales for both divisions.
