TOLEDO, Ohio – official release – ARCA photo — Grant Enfinger has not only put together six victories on the 2014 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season, he’s also topped another milestone. By leading 183 laps in his two most recent races, Enfinger has now led for more than 1,000 laps on the season.
“It was an unbelievable job by everyone at GMS Racing,” Enfinger said after his most recent win at DuQuoin. “I’m very blessed to be part of this team. The victory was definitely one of the highlights of my career – to pull one off in the dirt.”
Enfinger has won on four short tracks, one race on dirt and one on a superspeedway this season. The dirt win, he said, is special.
“It took me a few laps to get my rhythm, but once I began to figure things out, I started driving it harder and gaining on those guys,” he said. “Then once I got a little distance, I felt like I could be more consistent. As a whole, we really weren’t conserving much. We didn’t back into this one; I think we earned it.”
The ARCA Racing Series is off this weekend, ending a string of seven consecutive weeks with a race. The next race is at Salem Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 13.
Enfinger has led 1,070 laps of 2,409 total laps through the first 17 races of the season. Ken Schrader, with five laps led at DuQuoin, has now led 2,495 laps in his ARCA career.
