USAC: Bernal Sweeps Through California; Wins Western Midget and CRA Sprint Car Mains in Chico

CHICO, Calif. – official series release —

Ryan Bernal recorded a rare clean sweep in USAC competition on Thursday night at Silver Dollar Speedway.

Bernal won both the Honda USAC Western Midget Series feature and the AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series Gold Cup Race of Champions main event.

In the midget feature, Bernal led the final 17 laps in his Six8 Racing entry after passing Chase Stockon for the lead on lap 14. Fast qualifier Shane Golobic finished second ahead of Stockon, Frankie Guerrini and Trey Marcham.

The win shot Bernal into the lead in the California Midget Week standings.

In the sprint car feature, Bernal led all 30 laps to beat fast qualifier Andy Forsberg, Kevin Thomas Jr., Austin Liggett and Jake Swanson.

As a result Bernal also leads the California Sprint Week standings.
