BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – official series release —

One of the most exciting race weekends in the West is just two days away.

Davey Hamilton’s “King of the Wing” National Sprint Car Championship invades California with a three-day, three-track series that will crown a West Coast champion and a national champion.

With 30 drivers and teams pre-entered for the west coast swing, open wheel and all racing fans will be treated to some of the best racing they have witnessed in years.

The three-day run kicks off at Kenny Shepherd’s LoanMart Madera Speedway on Friday. This ultra-fast third mile oval will offer fans an up close an intimate look at the “King of the Wing”. Last year at Madera, the racers completed the 40-lap main event in just over eight minutes.

Day two of the King of the Wing will see drivers head down Interstate 5 to Irwindale Speedway. On Saturday night, racers will light up southern California on this flat, wide, and fast half-mile. Last year’s event produced great racing and broken track records. This pivotal race in the series will be a big change from the tight racing the night before at Madera Speedway.

The third and final race in the series will take place at Kern County Raceway. Sunday, the second annual George Snider Classic will go live, highlighting the legendary career of the sprint car and Indy 500 racer.
