BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – By Jason Cunningham, NASCAR — Jason O. Watson/Getty Images for NASCAR photo — Greg Pursley added yet another track to his list of Coors Light Pole Awards, and in the process moved up one rung on the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West all-time list.

Pursley piloted the No. 26 GPM/Star Nursery/Real Water Ford to a fast lap of 18.179 seconds (99.015 mph) around the half-mile oval of Kern County Raceway Park Saturday afternoon for his 18th career Coors Light Pole Award.

With the Kern County pole, Pursley has now recorded fast time at 11 different tracks during his career. By adding to his previous total, the Newhall, Calif., native now has sole possession of eighth place on the K&N Pro Series West career poles list. He was previously tied with Ron Eaton with 17 poles.

Pursley is well-positioned to make it 2-for-2 at the Bakersfield oval later tonight after he won the series’ inaugural event at Kern County last October.

Although Pursley came away with the pole, Brandon McReynolds put in a strong bid to steal it away with his qualifying turn as one of the last cars out. McReynolds posted a fast lap of 18.194 (98.934) for the outside pole. David Mayhew qualified third at 18.263 (98.560).

The remainder of the top 10 qualifiers included: James Bickford, Dylan Lupton, Jesse Little, Giles Thornton, Jamie Krzysik, Luis Tyrell and Thomas Martin.

The Armed Forces 150 is slated for green flag at 7:35 p.m. PT. The race will be videocast live
