MONROE, Wash. – By John Tejada, NASCAR — Getty Images for NASCAR photo — Current NASCAR K&N Pro Series West points leader Greg Pursley is off to a fast start at Evergreen Speedway.
Pursley and the No. 26 GPM/Star Nursery/Real Water Ford led both practice sessions for the NAPA Auto Parts/Toyota 150, the 10th event of the 2014 season. He led the final session with a fast lap of 23.682 seconds (97.289 mph), besting his session leading time of 24.103 seconds (95.590) in first practice. The Newhall, California, native was a winner at this track in 2011.
Brandon McReynolds was second-fastest in the final practice, followed by David Mayhew and rookies James Bickford and Gracin Raz. Raz, from Lake Oswego, Oregon, is making his K&N Pro Series debut.
Giles Thornton, Dylan Lupton, Austin Reed, local driver Tyler Tanner and Nicole Behar rounded out the top 10. Behar will be making her second series start after recording a sixth-place finish in her debut with the series at State Line Speedway in July, the highest finish be a female competitor in the series.
Dan Moore, the defending NASCAR Whelen All-American Series track and state champion at Evergreen Speedway, was 15th on the speed chart.
Pole qualifying for the NAPA Auto Parts/Toyota 150 is slated for 4:15 p.m. PT and the race will go green at 6 p.m.
