POST FALLS, Idaho – By Jason Cunningham, NASCAR — Getty Images for NASCAR photo — A two-time winner so far this year, David Mayhew took the first step toward adding to that total by posting the fastest lap in NASCAR K&N Pro Series West practice Saturday at State Line Speedway.
Mayhew, from Atascadero, Calif., turned in a quick lap of 13.858 seconds (64.944 mph) around the banked quarter-mile in the second of two practice sessions for tonight’s NAPA Auto Parts/Toyota 150. He finished third on the board in first practice at 14.078 (63.930).
Brandon McReynolds turned the second-fastest lap of the practices at 13.927 (64.623), also in the second session. James Bickford was third in final practice at 13.934 (64.590).
Greg Pursley led the day’s first session at 13.995 (64.309) followed by McReynolds at 14.053 (64.043).
Coors Light Pole Award qualifying is set for 6 p.m. PT and the NAPA Auto Parts/Toyota 150 will go green at 9 p.m.
