The bomb was dropped weeks ago.

Jessica Zemken has set her Saturday night GPS to Jim Shampine Drive in Oswego, NY.  She will make the move from 360 and 410 Sprint Cars to the Oswego Supermodified, the fastest short track car in America.  She will join the Graham Racing Team with support from her primary sponsor for the past several seasons, Corr/Pak Merchandising, in a weekly assault on the fast 5/8-mile Oswego Speedway.

Zemken is a polarizing figure here in the Northeast.  She motivates young ladies who want to race cars but has always downplayed being a female driver as she sees herself as one of the ‘guys’ on the track.  She will certainly bring new fans to Oswego Speedway and most likely bring fans back to ‘The Steel Palace’ who have not been in years.

Jessica also believes her first Supermodified win will come in 2014 during her Rookie of the Year campaign.  There is more reality here than meets the eye, as she will have first class equipment and a team who knows how to win races.  She also holds valuable seat time within the last 2-3 years, however not enough races to deny her chance to contend for Rookie of the Year.

She called in to the Turn 5 Racing Podcast to talk about her new deal, her new team, her sponsor support and her goals for 2014.
