WOODHULL, NY — official release — Shane Jackson Photo — The King of the Ring has been a fan favorite event at the Woodhull Raceway and for the second consecutive year, the Woodhull Raceway will be holding a King of the Ring Challenge for the NAPA Crate Sportsman, presented by NAPA Auto Parts.

Prior to the 2014 season, the change was made by Ted White to hold a special event the following week of the fireworks show to increase spectator attendance and what a better show to have then another King of the Ring event?  Last year was the first year the Woodhull Raceway held a King of the Ring event for the NAPA Crate Sportsman as an anonymous spectator donated the purse money , this year NAPA Auto parts, will be presenting the fan favorite event.

The event last year was won by Russ Morseman, who defeated Ray Bliss in the finals, Morseman is looking to repeat again this year.

“I am excited about it. It is a great event and I applaud the Woodhull raceway and NAPA Auto parts of Addison for putting it on. I was really excited for it last year and it was probably the most fun I’ve ever had driving at Woodhull. It is definitely a unique event and one that I’m sure the fans love as much as the drivers do. So as excited as I was last year I’m sure it will be a great show this year and I’ll be looking to be putting the #44 on top again this year, plus the event should be even more exciting with the Crate Class because unlike the Late Models and Modified’s, most cars are the same, all that matters is car set up and driving ability.” Said Morseman in an interview via Facebook.

As for the regular Big Six Show, that will be presented by Rotsell’s family restaurant, of Lawrenceville, Pennsylvania.
The Brown family along with a multitude of their employees and colleagues of Rotsell’s Family Restaurant will converge at the Woodhull Raceway to sponsor the event which will mark the start of the second half of the 2014 campaign at the popular Steuben County oval.

Rotsell’s Family Restaurant, Old Rt. 15 in Lawrenceville, Pa. is one of the areas most popular eating establishments featuring a variety of delicious home cooked dishes.  Jen Brown of Rotsell’s along with her husband, Scott are the parents of Collin Brown who competes in the NAPA Crate Sportsman Division at Woodhull.

The July 5th show is set to begin at 6:30 with gates opening up at 4:30. The Woodhull Raceway is located on County Rt. 102 in Woodhull, New York. For more information, find us on facebook, or log onto woodhullraceway.com.
