This week here at the Action Track of the East we have the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series rolling on for a fifth consecutive weekend! On Fast Friday we will see the SYRA divisions rise to the top looking for glory in their respective 20 lap feature events.
With the racing we have seen thus far in the SYRA division, especially the 750, these Triple Crown races could spell some of the best racing across the Northeast. Watch for Shea Kulpa to continue her strong runs in the SYRA 750 this weekend. Kulpa, a two-time feature winner already this year, has one of the best handling cars the division has seen in recent memory.
It seems as if when the Donavan sisters left the class, Bowser and Kulpa picked up as the lady leaders. In the SYRA 600, watch for Anthony Marvin and Marissa Morgan to continue their championship fight. They both battled hard coming from the back to the front of the field to the front late in last weeks main event and this week could either spell success or big trouble. With double points up on the line in the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series, one of those drivers could go from leading the standings to outside the top five in a blink of an eye.
Also on Friday the Pure Stocks will come off their Triple Crown race last Friday with Andrew Kuhn looking to rebound. He struggled at times during the 30 lap main event and will be looking to regain some points and hopefully return to Victory Lane a week before his birthday.
On Saturday night, the Shriners return to the Action Track of the East for another thrilling night of action. When the Shriners show up, beware for Team V Racing in the Late Model ranks… It seems that whenever the clowns are on the midway Bobby Pelland III is right in the front when it comes time for the checkered flag in the 30 lap main event. Can Pelland continue the good luck streak when the Shriners are on hand?
The Seekonk Sports Trucks will begin the second round of the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series here at the Speedway on Saturday night. Who will be moving onto the final four in the chase of the Triple Crown title?
John Paiva comes into the night with the advantage in the Triple Crown standings after he scored the win in round one of the important series. Can Mike Cavallaro make it back-to-back victories at the Action Track? Will Rob Murphy start his route towards back-to-back Triple Crown Titles?
Also on Saturday evening the annual kids trike races will take place. They will be held in between the heat and the feature racing and it creates some excitement for the youngsters and their family. Some of the drivers that will be competing in the trike races have parents that ride in our Saturday or Friday night divisions here at the track. It is always great to see the smiles all around.
So who heads to Everett’s Auto Parts Victory Lane this weekend? Will Astle end his bad luck streak in the Pro Stocks? Will Darling come back with a vengeance? Does DeGaspere Jr. grab number one in the Late Models?
Until next time, stay off the walls! And enjoy your weekend at the Action Track!
