Last Friday evening, the Stafford Motor Speedway (Stafford, CT) announced that Legend Cars will return to the track for full-time competition on Friday nights in 2014. This will be the first time the division runs weekly at the track since 1994.

The series will compete on 14 Friday nights in 2014, along with a few special shows. The events will be INEX sanctioned, pulling the rules for the INEX Legends Tour.

“We are excited to have US Legend Cars here at Stafford Motor Speedway,” said David Arute, Assistant G.M. of Stafford Motor Speedway. “This is a great opportunity for the up and coming drivers to get exposure and experience at our venue. The feedback from the drivers is very positive so it looks like it will be a good field of cars.”

It appears as if the biggest competition to car counts at Stafford will be the Seekonk Speedway. They also run a Legends Cars series full-time on Friday nights, so it will be interesting to see which of the two tracks that the drivers select to compete at.

On July 15,2013 the Legend Cars took to the SMS mini-mile as part of the Wild Thing Kart Monday night program. A field of 18 cars got a taste of the action at SMS and Giovanni Giarrantana took the checkered flag.

For more information on rules, or entries for the 2014 season, drivers are asked to contact the Stafford Motor Speedway office at 860-684-2783.
