Keith Rocco will not be a part of Friday’s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Rocco, driver of the Our Motorsports No. 22 modified on the tour, is also a weekly runner at Stafford Speedway in the SK Modified division and a weekly runner at New London-Waterford Speedbowl in the SK Modified and Late Model divisions.

The team released the following statement on Tuesday regarding the decision to withdraw from Friday night’s event:

“Our Motorsports has announced that the team will withdraw from this weekend’s race at Stafford Motor Speedway as driver Keith Rocco recovers from a hand injury,” the team said. “Racing last weekend at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, Rocco was involved in a multi-car accident resulting in the injury to his hand.”

“Our primary concern is getting Keith¬†back to 100%. We will take this on a week-by-week basis as his recovery continues.”

It is unclear at this time if Rocco will be out of regular NASCAR Whelen All American Series action this weekend as well. He currently leads the NASCAR national points standings as part of the Whelen All American Series.

So far in 2015 with Rocco the team had collected four top tens in seven starts. Rocco did not race in the season opening Icebreaker for the team but was placed in the ride by Our after the team let go of former driver Tommy Barrett.
