The Lee USA Speedway has announced the schedule for their 2016 season and it includes some top notch races for New England race fans.

The season will begin with the annual Governor’s Cup weekend with the American Canadian Tour (ACT) on April 9-10. Saturday will be a “Test and Tune” session for all driver’s looking to get a head start on their setups, while Sunday will include qualifying and feature action for the ACT Tour, North East Mini Stock Tour and Northeast Classic Lites.

As with some of the past year’s — the track will then take a little bit over a month off — preparing the facility and giving their weekly drivers a chance to get their cars ready for an intense season of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action.

The regular season will begin on Friday May 27, with the weekly Supermodifieds, Late Model Sportsman, Hobby Stocks and Ironman will battle it out for points. Though there will be no touring series joining the action on the opening night — that will be rare in 2016.

The Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) will join Lee’s weekly races on Friday June 3 for a 100 lap Pro Stock race, while the Northeast Classic Lites and Senior Tour Auto Racers come to town on Friday June 10.

The North East Street Stock Tour (NESST) and Pro All Star Series Super Late Models (PASS) will make appearances on June 17 and June 24 respectively, will be followed by a Fireworks celebration on July 1 as part of Independence Day weekend.

The Northeast Classic Lites will co-headline action on July 8 — but the big race of the night will be a EKeys Supermodified special. The Valenti Modified Racing Series (VMRS) will hold twin 50 lap features with the NWAAS action on July 22, before R&R Tool Store and Late Model special night to complete July.

The ISMA Supermodifieds will start the month of August at the 3/8 mile oval, before the track invites the PASS Tour in for the second time on Friday Aug. 12. A Hobby Stock special 50 lap main event and the Pro 4 modified series will headline action on Aug. 19, before regular Whelen All-American Series action concludes the season with the final three weeks. Champions will be crowned on Friday Sept. 9.

The oval will take a month off before concluding their season with the annual Octoberfest weekend Oct. 7-9, with multiple touring series and weekly racing divisions. As in the past, the Valenti Modified Racing Series (VMRS) will headline the weekend to close out the season.
