Keith Rocco remains at the top of the NASCAR Whelen All American Series standings after this past weekend of action.

Rocco runs full-time at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park in the Late Model and SK Modified class, in the Stafford Motor Speedway SK Modified class and the New London-Waterford Speedbowl SK and Late Model divisions.

He currently holds a 52 point lead over new second place driver Ryan Preece. He has collected 8 wins, 18 top-five’s and 21 top-ten finishes so far in 2015.

Even though he crashed in last Wednesday’s SK feature at Thompson and New London-Waterford had a week off for a summer break of racing, he still holds a solid advantage.

Preece, a driver who competes at Thompson, Stafford and Riverhead Raceway in the SK modified division comes off a big victory in Friday night’s “SK 5K” classic at the Stafford Motor Speedway last week.

He had run in third for the past four weeks until he was able to hop over Lee Pulliam this past weekend. ¬†Preece holds second with 588 points to Rocco’s 586 points. Preece now holds six victories so far in 2015.

Lee Pulliam sits only two back of Preece, hot on his heels. He has won two National titles, coming in 2012 and 2013.

Keith Rocco will be looking for his second National Championship, the other coming in 2010.
