Seekonk Speedway skated through some iffy weather on both nights and got the shows in with some good racing on the track last weekend.

Friday night, Amy Arsenault clinched the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series championship after coming from the back while Andrew Kun notched his second Pure Stock feature win of the season. Anthony Marvin and Taylor Bowser both took their No. 07 SYRA cars into Victory Lane and joined “Batman” Brandon Martinez, who got his first career Legend Car checkered flag. Gil Bradstreet took the TTM Motorsports to Everett’s Auto Parts Victory Lane for the first time this season.

Freddy Astle got back into Pro Stock Everett’s Auto Parts Victory Lane on Saturday in dominating fashion. Astle took off early, passing Rick Martin and never looked back. Dylan Estrella and Mike Duarte won green to checker feature events in the Late Models and Sports Trucks. Also scoring his first career Street Stock win in the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series was Tyler Lallier.

The final weekend in August at the Seekonk Speedway will include a pair of Phil’s Propane Triple Crown finales. On Friday evening, the SYRA divisions, both the 600s and 750s, will be in battle with 20 lap feature events to crown their champions.

Karlin Levesque comes into the SYRA 600 feature leading the Triple Crown standings but is closely chased by drivers like Scott Serydynski Jr., Luke LeBrun and Anthony Marvin. Each of the top drivers in the contention for the championship have won feature races so far in 2015 and another would only help their cause.

In the SYRA 750, Taylor Bowser leads the Triple Crown standings to this point over her friend Brandon Lille. Bowser also missed a race this season and will be searching to gain points towards the top of the overall driver’s championship standings as well.

The Sport 4, Pure Stock and Nick’s Pit Stop Legend Car divisions will be on hand for regular feature racing. Watch out for tight battle in the Pure Stock championship fight, with Amy Arsenault leading Andrew Kun by only four points headed into the final four weeks of action.

On Saturday night, the Street Stocks, Pro Stocks and Sports Trucks will be in action for regular feature events. Watch those championship battles, all of which have the second place driver less than one race behind going into the final stretch of the season. Kyle Casper will make a special guest appearance in the No. 88 Phil’s Propane Pro Stock as well.

The Late Models take center stage Saturday night, with round three of the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series. Gerry DeGaspere Jr, Charlie Rose Jr, Dylan Estrella and Nick Uring will each be vying to become champion.

A special weekend battle will also take place with the RI Shiners, who return for the second time after Mother Nature ended their night in June before heats got underway. Joining the Shriners in town will be the New England Antique Auto Racers for their only appearance of 2015.

The annual trike races will also take place trackside in between the heat and feature events. Watch for the youngsters of many of the drivers to be in action for a short distance looking for bragging rights in the grandstands.
