When fans attend Saturday night races at Seekonk Speedway, they see the weekly Street Stocks beat and bang with each other and put on a thrilling show.

If you’ve ever wanted to see a touring series that does the same thing — 2015 is your chance.

The North East Street Stock Tour has been put together by Scott Fanning and Nick Ray and has really taken off over the last few months.

“I tell everyone the same story, it started around a computer and a couple of beers,” series founder Scott Fanning told Race Chaser Online.

The updated schedule for the 2015 season will kick-off at the Lee USA Speedway as part of a special exhibition event.  The race will be 50 laps in distance and will be joining the Tri Track Open Modified Series at Lee as a support division. The tour will also be at Lee as part of the regular Friday night program on July 31.

The inaugural points race for the N.E. Street Stock tour will be held at Seekonk Speedway in Seekonk, Massachusetts on Saturday night May 30. The 40 lap feature event with $750 up for grabs for the winner will co-headline the night’s action with the weekly Seekonk Pro Stocks.

Other highlight events on the schedule include two appearances at Speedway 51 (June 13 and August 13), a show at Monadnock Speedway on July 11, and an appearance at Speedway 95 on October 4th.

The tour will also visit Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on two occasions, one of them on the road course at the facility.  They will join together with the North East Mini Stock Tour in a combination race on the course on September 11 and 12.  The champion will be crowned at Thompson on the oval track as part of World Series weekend.

“I think everyone’s excited for the road course race.  We were talking with Josh Vanada of Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park and he looked at me across the desk and asked if we would be interested in a road course race,” Fanning said.

While the season starts to close in, many drivers are starting to send in their entry forms in preparation for action.  A duo of Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park drivers headline the roster, with Steve Kennaway and Shawn Monahan already having filed their entry.  Both drivers finished in the top five in the Thompson Limited Sportsman standings a year ago.

Three Speedway 51 drivers (Brian Gosselin, Jamie Longley and Jay Bennett), three Waterford Speedbowl regulars (Jim Boyle, Christopher Dutton and Joseph Arena) and Seekonk Speedway Pro Stock regular and former Street Stock champion Ryan Lineham are a few others who have filed entries.
