Final preparations are underway in Dundee, NY for Tuesday’s running of the ‘Rumble at The Rock’ presented by S.P. Wilson, Inc 50-lap $5,000-to-win feature event. A large field of cars is expected and one of the largest crowds of the year is expected with general admission set at only $15.
The mighty Modifieds will race 50 laps for the $5,000 top prize while being joined by the M&M Auto Sales & Service IMCA Modifieds, Morseman Racing Chassis Street Stocks and NAPA Know How 4 Cylinders who will race a full point show however the features will have a 30 minute time limit. The Modifieds will not be racing for points at the ‘Rumble’.
The modifieds will race under Black Rock Speedway rules which are available at www.blackrockspeedway.com .
Local Modified drivers have not only been buzzing about the winner’s purse for the ‘Rumble at The Rock’ but also the Short Track Super Series guaranteed starting spots that Brett Deyo will be on hand to pass out.
The guaranteed starting spots available to pick from for the top three finishers include:
-Lightning on the Mountain Sunday June 28th at Thunder Mountain Speedway paying $5,000+ to win and $400 to start
-Crazy 8s Special Wednesday July 22nd at I-88 Speedway paying $8,888+ to win and $388 to start
-Hustlin’ the Highbanks 51 Tuesday August 11th at Woodhull Raceway paying $5,100+ to win and $400 to start
In addition to the base purse, $680 in lap money has been raised so far with 16 laps left to sell as of Monday afternoon. The lap money will be distributed among the first seven running positions during the 50-lap feature.
Black Rock Speedway promoter Mike Jackson has announced that he will be sponsoring a $100 longest tow award. Superior Crushing, LLC, owned by Modified driver Tyler Siri, has also sponsored a $100 hard charger award. Champion Power Equipment/Super Gen Products has also sponsored a Champion 6800 watt generator that will be given away to one lucky Modified driver during the Top 12 redraw on the front stretch.
With the large field expected, the pit gates will open up at the ‘Fast Four-Tenths-Mile’ at 3PM Tuesday afternoon. A Driver’s Meeting is scheduled for 5:50PM with hot laps getting under way at 6:15PM. The first heat will hit the track at 7PM.
General admission gates will open at 5PM with adult tickets being just $15 while Senior Citizens and youth ages 12-17 will be set at $13. Children under 12 years of age are always free at Black Rock Speedway.
As a reminder- the Crate Sportsman and Creekside Entertainment Bandits will NOT be on the racing card for the Tuesday June 2nd show presented by S.P. Wilson, Inc.
