Could the Seekonk Speedway have any more modified talent headed their way on Thursday night?
Adding himself to a list of an already star-studded field for the Northeast Race Cars and Parts Tri Track Open Modified Series 100 lap event, Eric Beers has filed his entry and will be in competition for the first time in Seekonk’s big dollar event since 2009.
He will be behind the wheel of the famous “Ole Blue” No. 3 modified for Boehler Racing Enterprises.
The family has been in modified racing for the past 55+ seasons and they continue to run full-time on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour with Troy Talman this season.
Beers, a 46-year old modified driver, has finished a career best third in the Open Wheel Wednesday $10,000 to win event. That night, the inaugural event in 2005, he also drove the Boehler Racing No. 3.
Beers has been running the modified division at the Mahoning Valley Speedway so far this season and has collected multiple top-five finishes, but still is looking for a victory.
Fans can see Beers in action Thursday night with heat racing beginning at 7 p.m.
