SEEKONK, Mass. — Due to an impending weather forecast that calls for rain showers throughout the weekend, Seekonk Speedway has postponed the D.A.V. Fall Classic weekend scheduled for Sept. 30-Oct. 1.

The Fast Friday portion of the program will now be run on Oct. 28 and the Saturday portion of the show will follow on Oct. 29.

The Fast Friday Series will be headlined by the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends with their final 25 lap feature race of the season. The Pure Stocks, Sport 4s, SYRA 750s and SYRA 600s will also be in action. The finale will also see an 20-lap exhibition event for the Bandolero class, a new division that Seekonk will add to the racing card for the 2017 season.

The Saturday portion will include a 150 lap super late model main, with more than $5,000 up for grabs to the winner. Stars from across New England are expected to battle it out with the weekly regulars, including 2016 Pro Stock champion Tom Scully Jr.

The defending winner of the D.A.V. super late model thriller is David Darling, who dominated last year’s event.

The Street Stocks will have a 30 lap feature, as will the Sports Trucks. The Everett’s Auto Parts Late Models will compete in a 50 lap feature race.

The race will follow the Thompson World Series and the New London-Waterford Speedbowl finale, opening the door for outsiders to invade the Action Track of the East in the final New England racing weekend of the year.
