INDIANAPOLIS – The United States Auto Club has canceled the two-night USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Series races that were scheduled for July 29-30 at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Ill.
“We have decided that due to MOWA Sprint Car events at competing tracks in the region, it would be in our best interest to forego these events and not divide car counts and fans alike,” said USAC Competition Director Levi Jones.
“We look forward to the Oct. 6-8 Gold Crown Midget Nationals, which will feature the USAC National Midgets at Tri-City,” added Jones.
The USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Series will resume in late-August with the Sprint Car Smackdown spectacular at the Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway. A pair of USAC-sanctioned special events will precede those races, Aug. 20-21 at Badlands Motor Speedway in Brandon. S.D. and Aug. 24 at Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway.
