QUINCY, Ill – official release — Patrick Davis photo — Chris Urish has taken a liking to Quincy Raceways.

Urish scored his second career MOWA Sprint Car Series victory Sunday night at the quarter-mile dirt track, which was also the location of his first series victory back in July.

The 25-lap feature was led to the green by Jimmy Hurley and Bill Balog. The green flew and Hurley jumped out to the early lead with Balog on his tail. Two laps into the event Balog made contact with the Hurley’s No. 35, sending both cars spinning. Balog did a 360 and never stopped while Hurley’s car came to a stop facing the wrong way in turn two, bringing out the first caution of the event.

Balog would assume the lead on the restart with Urish now running second. Shortly after the restart Jerrod Hull was by Urish for the runner up spot and chasing down Balog. On lap four Jeremy Standridge went up and over the turn three banking and went tumbling, bringing out the only red flag of the evening. Standridge was OK after the incident.

On the restart Balog would open up a sizable lead on the field. Urish would get back up to the second just around the halfway point. The second yellow flag of the event would fly after A.J. Bruns made contact with the guardrail coming off of turn two on lap 13. The restart would see Balog lead, but Urish and made what would be the winning move a lap later, taking the lead for good on lap 15.

Traffic would be a factor in the closing stages until Balog came to a stop with two laps remaining in turn two. Urish would get a great restart and go on to claim the victory.

Jerrod Hull came home second, followed by Terry McCarl, Paul Nienhiser and Ryan Bunton.
