MOORESVILLE, N.C. — official team release —

Defending ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards champion Mason Mitchell has been a man of many roles in 2015 driver, owner, and crew chief.

While Mitchell has only made three starts in the ARCA Racing Series in 2015, he has made the most of his opportunities, earning one top-five and two top-ten finishes.

Now, Mitchell will return behind the wheel of the No. 78 for the fourth time in 2015 at his home track, the Iowa Speedway, for the Iowa ARCA 150 on July 17. The West Des Moines native will team up with local Chevrolet dealership, Karl Chevrolet, located in Anekey, Iowa.

The event will mark Mason Mitchell Motorsports’ national move to the Chevrolet brand in competition and driver development as the top race brand and support network in racing.

“I have been looking forward to this race since it was added to the schedule at the end of last year,” Mitchell said. “Iowa Speedway is the one track I want to win at more than any other on the ARCA schedule. This is my Daytona.”

“I can’t thank Karl Chevrolet enough for coming on-board for this race. As soon as we contacted them that we were going to race Iowa they wanted to be part of it immediately. We have a lot of really cool events lined up leading to the race and after the race with Karl Chevrolet. I am ready for the homecoming.”

“Karl Chevrolet is deeply involved in the metro community through many local charities and our sponsorships of many local athletes and sports teams annually,” Carl Moyer, owner of Karl Chevrolet, added of the organization. “Being able to support a local Iowan like Mason Mitchell on a national stage in his new Chevy Impala is another great fit and partnership for Karl Chevrolet.”

“It would be great to see Mason and his No. 78 Chevy Impala in victory circle on July 17. Not just for Karl Chevrolet, but for a great Iowa kid representing the most driven brand in Iowa, Chevrolet.”

Mitchell has two prior starts at the Iowa Speedway, most recently in 2013 when he finished sixth. The 21-year-old made his ARCA Racing Series debut in 2012 at his home track — starting ninth and finishing tenth.

The Iowa ARCA 150 at the Iowa Speedway will take place Friday, July 17 (FOX Sports 1, 8 p.m. CT).
