TOLEDO, Ohio – official release – ARCA photo — It’s been quite some time – about two-and-a-half months – since an ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards entry list has had a Spencer Gallagher on it, but that changes this week when Gallagher climbs back aboard his No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet for Friday night’s ARCA 98.9 at Kansas Speedway.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back with the ole gang,” Gallagher said. “I’m sure they miss me.”

Gallagher got some wheel-time in this past weekend, racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at his hometown Las Vegas Motor Speedway, finishing 13th in the Rhino Linings 350.

“It was great; we had a really fast truck…great till we lost two spring rubbers out of the rear late in the race. I was having a blast…what a fun track. When you go hauling off into one and two, it’s really rough. Kansas is just the opposite – like glass all the way around.”

Gallagher finished sixth in his last ARCA outing at Chicagoland Speedway in mid-July after qualifying second and leading 70 of the 100 laps.

“I really miss the ARCA cars…they’re really fun to drive, especially on the mile-and-a-half’s. You don’t have to give up on the aero as fast. You can race a lot closer.”

Gallagher finished 21st at Kansas in 2012, and seventh at Kansas in 2013.

“We’ve always been fast (at Kansas) but we always seem to run into something crazy.”

Gallagher and Grant Enfinger will be teammates for the ARCA 98.9 under the GMS Racing banner.

“We have a really good mile-and-a-half program, so both cars should be strong. And we share information, so we should be talking quite a bit between us.”

In addition to racing in the ARCA race at Kansas, Gallagher plans to race in Camping World Truck Series events yet this year at Talladega, Phoenix and Homestead.

The ARCA 98.9 at Kansas marks Gallagher’s 51st career ARCA start. The Las Vegas, Nevada native has been close to Victory Lane several times, most notably at Salem where he’s twice finished second and at the Illinois State Fairgrounds mile dirt where he also finished second.

The ARCA 98.9 at Kansas Speedway marks the 14th consecutive ARCA race at Kansas since the series debuted on the 1.5-mile track in 2001 – Jason Jarrett, the inaugural winner. Other ARCA winners at Kansas include Frank Kimmel, Scott Speed, Parker Kligerman, Ty Dillon and Alex Bowman.
