HUNTERSVILLE, N.C.– BK Racing has announced that Inova Health System’s Life With Cancer program will be promoted on David Ragan’s No. 23 Life With Cancer Toyota Camry at Dover International Speedway this weekend.
Life With Cancer provides those living with cancer and their loved ones with education, information and support – all free of charge no matter where they live or receive treatment. Services include counseling and education; children and teen programs; information and resources; mind-body and wellness programs; and referrals.
Life with Cancer is funded primarily by community contributions.
“We are very excited to partner with BK Racing at the Citizen Soldier 400,” said Sage Bolte, Ph.D., Executive Director of Inova Life with Cancer. “The face of cancer is changing. The rate of cancer diagnoses among young adults is growing, people are living longer, and cancer is evolving from a terminal disease to a chronic disease. Now, more than ever, it is critical to have resources to cope with the impacts of cancer close to home.”
“NASCAR is an excellent platform to raise awareness of Life with Cancer’s unique approach to cancer education and support.”
This will be Life With Cancer’s first sponsorship appearance in NASCAR.
“Cancer impacted my family last year, so this is a cause that I fully understand and support,” said Ragan. “It means a lot to have Life With Cancer on our car this weekend at Dover and I hope that families know there are resources out there to help them during the fight against cancer.”
“It’s an honor to be part of such an important cause,” added team owner Ron Devine. “The work done at Life With Cancer is important and special. Life with Cancer can make day-to-day life easier for those affected by cancer, and it connects them with a community of people who face many of the same challenges. They are truly saving people’s lives.”
“I have visited their locations in Northern Virginia, and Life With Cancer is first class in every aspect. Meeting with staff was a moving experience for me and I look forward to working with them in the future.”
