DIRTcar: Feger Shines at Spoon River; Outlasts Unzicker for Summer Nationals Win

CANTON, Ill. – official release — RJ Brown photo — Jason Feger outlasted Ryan Unzicker on Wednesday night to pick up his first DIRTcar Summer Nationals victory of the year at Illinois’ Spoon River Speedway.

Unzicker started on the pole for the 40-lap feature and paced the field for the first 26 laps. Feger was finally able to challenge and make his pass for the win on Lap 27, taking the lead on the inside of the track in turn four. Feger then held off challenges from Unzicker and third-place Shannon Babb, with neither driver able to take the lead before the finish. The 2010 Summer Nationals champion held on to pocket the $5,000 victory.

Unzicker finished third at the three-eighths-mile dirt oval. Brady Smith slipped by Babb in the late stages to take third, with Babb settling for fourth. Randy Korte finished fifth.
