GASTONIA, NC (May 31) – One of the most successful Late Model drivers in the Carolina’s returned to his old stomping grounds Friday night as Clover SC’s, John Pursley made his first Roush Yates Late Model start of 2013 pay off as he scored the $1,200 victory at Carolina Speedway.

Pursley inherited the lead after his son Johnny Pursley tangled with a lapped car, ending his night. Pursley then took over and lead Chris Hargett, 14th starting Jay Sessoms, Shaun Medlin and Richard Clew to the line.

Matt Emmerling continued his recent hot streak in the Stock Car Steel/SRI Open Wheel Modifieds as the Ohio transplant picked up his third victory of the season. Robert Poole, Manuel Johnson, Michael Yankee and Richie Watson completed the top five.

Mike Messer made a last lap pass of Lancaster, SC’s Brandy Baker to post the Domino’s Pizza Street Stock win. Baker, Chris Steele, Ronald Pope and Jamie McCombs rounded out the top five.

Jamie Major charged from his sixth starting spot to score the Tilley Harley Davidson Renegade win over the 22 car starting field. Casey Towell, Scott Freeman, Tyler Hyatt and Doug Kennerly crossed the line second through fifth.

Q2U BBQ Pit Four Cylinder action saw Blake Pryor continue his impressive season with another win. Second through fifth went to; Patrick Lyon, Jerry Oliver, Jason Day and Jeremy Freeman.

Friday Night Live returns this Friday June 7th with a full racing program.
