AUDIO/RECAP: Sessoms Among Carolina Speedway Friday Night Winners

GASTONIA, NC (Sept. 6) – Story by Carolina Speedway – Audio by Tom Baker – Jay Sessoms took another step forward in clinching the 2013 Roush Yates Late Model track championship by claiming his third consecutive victory at Carolina Speedway.

Timbo Mangum gave chase but had to settle for second. Tim Allen raced Mangum hard but wound up third. Jonathan Edwards and David Yandle completed the top five.

Jay’s Victory Lane Interview: 

In the Domino’s Pizza Street Stock division it was Ronald Pope scoring the victory over the strong field. Pope’s victory helped him extended his lead with only two point races remaining. Brent Hodges, Josh Robbins, Adam Vandiver and Jeff Graves followed.

Ronald’s Victory Lane Interview: 

In the American Air Thunder Sportsman division it was young Hank Taylor taking the win. Ron Scully, Andy Mattison, AJ Cable and Stephen Watts completed the top five.

Hank’s Victory Lane Interview: 

Jamie Major continued his strangle hold on the Tilley Harley Davidson Renegade division with yet another victory. Scott Freeman came home second with Chris Stowe third Adam Vandiver fourth and John Rhyne fifth.

Jamie’s Victory Lane Interview: 

Blake Pryor survived a protest to score the Q2U BBQ Pit Four Cylinder win. Shannon Barnhill was second with Patrick Lyon third, Jason Day fourth and Jerry Oliver fifth.

Blake’s Victory Lane Interview: 

Scott Cloninger took the Hornets win over; Shannon Barnhill, Chase Webb, Mike Atkins and David Motes.
