EAGLE, Neb. — official release — Joe Orth photo — Brian Brown swooped in and claimed the $5,000 winner’s check on Sunday night with the Speedway Motors ASCS Midwest Region, winning the Nebraska Cup at Eagle Raceway.

After enduring a red flag on the start followed by a pair of cautions, fourth starting Brown shot to the point and never looked back in a race riddled with yellows. Brown scored his eleventh overall win of the season on a track that saw the preferred line around the top; the win is also Brown’s third with the Midwest Region in 2014 and fourth in ASCS competition.

Jack Dover finished second and Danny Lasoski was the final podium finisher, coming home in third. Jay Russell and Tony Bruce, Jr. completed the top five.

After starting seventeenth in the A-Main, Jason Johnson charged to sixth with Brandon Hanks seventh. Billy Alley advanced five spots and crossed the line eighth with Don Droud, Jr. and Ryan Roberts rounding out the top ten.
