The 45th renewal of one of the crown jewels of super late model racing, the legendary Winchester 400, will take place Oct. 9, 2016 on the half-mile, high-banked Winchester Speedway and will be sanctioned once again by the ARCA/CRA Super Series.
The 2016 Winchester 400 weekend will have preliminary events for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman and Stealth Trailer CRA Street Stocks on Oct. 7-8. The ARCA/CRA Super Series will once again sanction the running of the prestigious 45th annual Winchester 400 on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 9.
NASCAR Camping World Truck Series regular Erik Jones won the 2015 edition of the Winchester 400 and took home an additional $100,000 bonus for completing the first-ever JEGS Super Late Model Triple Crown — winning the RedBud 300 at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway, the Battle at Berlin 251 at Berlin (Mich.) Raceway and his third-consecutive 400 this season.
Winchester Speedway owner Charlie Shaw and Champion Racing Ass’n Powered by JEGS officials also have announced that all four CRA divisions will return to Winchester Speedway in 2016 with the popular Labor Day Weekend World Stock Car Festival.
There will be an open practice on Saturday, Sept. 3 for all four CRA divisions. All four CRA Divisions will practice and qualify and there will be preliminary events for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman and Stealth Trailer CRA Street Stocks on Sunday, Sept. 4. The ARCA/CRA Super Series, Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman and Stealth Trailer CRA Street Stocks will all run feature events on Monday afternoon, Sept. 5.
