ARCA: Mitchell Hires New Crew Chief for Remainder of 2014

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – official release — MMM photo — With six races left in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season, Mason Mitchell and Mason Mitchell Motorsports have elected to make a change at the crew chief position.

Veteran crew chief Jamie Jones will move over from the No. 15 Venturini Motorsports entry to the No. 98 MMM team. Matt Weber will move from the No. 98 MMM team to the No. 15 VMS team.

“I can’t begin to thank Matt Weber for his time and dedication to MMM,” Mitchell said Wednesday morning.

“He helped build this program from the ground up and did a great job coming on as crew chief at Toledo earlier this year. Matt was a big part in putting this team on the map. I am looking forward to working with Jamie Jones starting this weekend. Jamie and I have worked well together in the past and have successful results with one another.”

Jones was Mitchell’s first ARCA crew chief in 2012 earning four top-ten’s in four starts along with two top-five finishes. The duo paired again in 2013 earning four top-ten’s in four races.
