Carolina Speedway: Ross Bailes Wins Race and NDRA Track Championship

GASTONIA, NC (Sept, 13) – Ross Bailes put an exclamation point the 2013 Carolina Workwear NDRA LM season finale at Carolina Speedway Friday night as he took home the $2,000 win along with 2013 track championship.

Steve Banal chased Bailes to the line with Greg Barker third, Matt Stover fourth and young John Ruggerio fifth.

In the Domino’s Pizza Street Stock feature it was Ronald Pope taking another late season win. Pope’s win stretched his point lead with only one point race remaining. Jeff Graves, Stephen Watts, Dane Aaron and Larry Tapps completed the top five.

Ryan Ayers stayed hot in the Stock Car Steel/SRI Open Wheel Modified main event as he roared to his third straight win. Matt Emmerling, Manuel Johnson, Shawn Martin and Chris Ihrke rounded out the top five.

Scott Freeman inherited the Tilley Harley Davidson Renegade win after apparent winner Jamie Major was disqualified in a post-race protest. Second through fifth went to; Chris Stowe, John Rhyne, Tyler Hyatt and Ronald Pope.

Shannon Barnhill stretched his Q2U BBQ Pit Four Cylinder win with another late season win. David Hendrick, Jerry Oliver, Blake Pryor and Jeremy Freeman completed the top five.

Casey Shane led Josh Blanton, Christopher Meadows, Billy Elliott and David Motes to the line as he scored yet another Hornets win.

This Friday night September 20th will be the final point race of 2013. The Roush Yates Late Models will headline the six division card. Gates open at 5:00 with racing at 8:00. General admission is only $12.
