ARCA: Calypso Lemonade to Sponsor Short Track Challenge in ARCA Racing Series

Officials from the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) and King Juice Inc., parent company of Calypso Brands, announced today that Calypso Lemonade will become the title sponsor of ARCA’s new “Short Track Challenge” series for 2015.

The Calypso Lemonade Short Track Challenge will consist of the 11 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards short track events on this year’s schedule. Short tracks, as deemed by series officials, are tracks one-mile in length or less. The Short Track Challenge opened at the ARCA Mobile 200 in Mobile, Alabama, on March 14.

“We are thrilled to be lending the Calypso Lemonade name to the 2015 Short Track Challenge,” said King Juice CEO Tim Kezman. “Calypso has enjoyed a wonderful relationship with racing fans over the years, and becoming the title sponsor of the Short Track Challenge is the next step in furthering this relationship.”

The Calypso Lemonade Short Track Challenge adds another exciting element to the overall national championship and opens new doors for competitors who do not run the full racing schedule. This includes drivers who are not eligible to race at superspeedways due to age restrictions and teams electing to run less than a full 20-race season.

King Juice has partnered with ARCA series sponsor Menards with their Calypso Brands since 2013. The business-to-business relationship between Menards and King Juice, a leading manufacturer of naturally flavored lemonades, brings opportunities for Calypso Brands to promote their products to the Menards and ARCA consumer base.

While the Calypso Lemonade Short Track Challenge is comprised of the 11 short track events that make up the championship series, only a competitor’s best 10 finishes will count towards overall point totals. The short track event producing the worst results will not count toward overall driver point totals, essentially allowing a driver’s worst finish to be discarded from the equation.

Just like the Superspeedway Challenge, points for the Short Track Challenge will be allocated for race performance only beginning with 200 for first, and falling in five-point increments from there.

Grant Enfinger, winner of the ARCA Mobile 200, is the early leader in the Calypso Lemonade Short Track Challenge point standings, followed by Brandon Jones. The two finished 1-2 at Mobile.

The next event for the Calypso Lemonade Short Track Challenge is the Troop Aid 200, set for Saturday, April 11, from the Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville.
