ROCKY MOUNT, Mo. – Jason Johnson Racing confirmed Thursday that long-time sponsor Mesilla Valley Transportation will continue to back the team during the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series season.
Mesilla Valley Transportation is a leading truckload carrier that focuses on safety and specializes in time sensitive service.
“We at MVT are proud to be a part of this never say quit team at Jason Johnson Racing,” said Royal Jones, the president and CEO of Mesilla Valley Transportation. “They have the tenacity and fortitude to go forward no matter what the obstacle. We wish them the best in the 2018 WoO season and look forward to seeing the JJR MVT No. 41 in victory lane many times this year as they chase the championship.
“We have a lot in common with the values-based approach to business the leaders at Mesilla Valley Transportation embrace to build their team and run their successful business operation as a leader in their industry,” said team owner and driver Jason Johnson. “MVT is always looking to drive value in all they do for their customers – the MVT way. And, at JJR we work tirelessly to build value for all of our dedicated sponsorship partners and their products and services – the JJR way.”
There will be a familiar face under the hood for the team, with Philip Dietz returning to run the team as the crew chief. Over the winter, the 2016 World of Outlaws Crew Chief of the Year has been working hard to get all the team’s equipment ready for the upcoming season.
In addition, Tyler Elliott will join the team as car chief, after previously working for Loyet Motorsports. Patrick Dudzinski will also join the team as tire specialist, after previously working for Moody Motorsports and ZEMCO Motorsports.
The team will kick off the season on Feb. 7 during the 47th annual DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla.
