USAC: Danny Faria Jr. Is King In Hanford’s West Coast Sprint

HANFORD, Calif. — Danny Faria Jr. led the final 11 laps to win Saturday night’s USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series feature at Keller Auto Speedway at Kings Fairgrounds.

Faria took the lead from Joe Stornetta Jr. on lap 20 and led the remainder of the 30-lap event on the three-eighths-mile dirt track.

Austin Liggett, who led the first four laps, finished second ahead of points leader Jace Vander Weerd in third. Stornetta paced 14 circuits, but finished fourth, while Cody Majors rounded out the top five.

Hobie Conway advanced 11 positions after starting 19th, garnering hard charger honors with his eighth-place finish.

Fast-qualifier Richard Vander Weerd flipped on lap 23 of the feature.

The USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series resumes on May 20 at Merle Stone Chevrolet Thunderbowl Raceway, with the running of the Chris & Brian Faria Memorial.
