KNPSW PRACTICE: McReynolds Fast At Irwindale

March 22, 2014 — By Jason Christley, NASCAR — NASCAR via Getty Images photo — IRWINDALE, Calif. — Brandon McReynolds set the pace Saturday afternoon in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West’s return to Irwindale Speedway.

McReynolds had a fast lap of 18.290 seconds (98.414 mph) around the progressive banked half-mile as the series prepared for Saturday night’s NAPA Auto Parts 150.

David Mayhew was second quickest overall with a lap of 18.293 (93.398) in the second session. His lap of 18.333 (98.184) led the first practice.

Patrick Staropoli was third fastest at 18.398 (97.837), followed by James Bickford and Anthony Giannone.

Greg Pursley, who won the series’ last visit to Irwindale in July of 2011, was sixth fastest in practice. Dylan Lupton, Giles Thornton, Andrew Lewis and Taylor Cuzick rounded out the top 10. Lewis practiced the car for Carl Harr, who was serving as crew chief for Daryl Harr in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Fontana Saturday afternoon.

Qualifying for the NAPA 150 is scheduled for 4:45 p.m. PT, and the green flag is at 8:30 p.m.
