ROSEVILLE, Calif. — By Jason Christley, NASCAR — Noah Graham/Getty Images for NASCAR photo — NASCAR K&N Pro Series West rookie James Bickford paced both 45-minute practice sessions Saturday at All American Speedway in advance of the Toyota/NAPA 150.
Bickford had a lap of 86.888 mph (13.797 seconds) to lead the final practice for the top speed overall. The 16-year-old Napa, California, has already wrapped up the series’ Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors.
David Mayhew was second quick at 13.849 (86.562) and Brandon McReynolds was third at 13.879 (86.375).
Bickford’s lap of 13.881 (86.363) led the first practice.
Dylan Lupton was fourth overall, followed by rookie and PEAK Stock Car Dream Challenge 2 winner Christian PaHud.
Rookies Gracin Raz, Joey Licata and Luis Tyrrell were sixth through eighth, followed by championship points leader Greg Pursley and rookie Alex Schutt.
Two-time Daytona 500 champion Michael Waltrip was 17th overall.
