DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (February 25, 2014) – NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Rookie of the Year contender, Mason Mingus, gave the No. 35 MadVapes Toyota Tundra a solid run in his NCWTS Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway debut as he cleverly drafted into the top-10, but was then “punted” from behind putting his Win-Tron Racing entry hard into the wall on Lap 73, completely destroying his brand new truck.
“Wow, that was a biggest hit I’ve ever had,” said Mingus. “I’m proud of my Win-Tron team as they gave me a solid truck this weekend. We were fast and we had a great race truck in traffic so we were just logging laps setting ourselves up for the end and try and take MadVapes to victory lane, but there was no chance to save it after getting hit,” stated the Brentwood, Tennessee native.
“I feel bad as that was a great truck that’s now destroyed, but I can’t thank my team and MadVapes enough for a great weekend, we’ll be ready to go get them in Martinsville.”
“We’re extremely proud of Mason and the Win-Tron team; they did a great job this weekend, just hate to see it end that way for the team after such a great run,” stated Mark Hoogendoorn, CEO of MadVapes.
The Win-Tron Racing team now prepares for the first short track of the year at the Kroger 200 at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway on March 29.
