Devin Walker Battles To Second at Bubba Raceway Park

Ocala, FL – Mayo, Florida’s Devin Walker continues to impress everyone who watches him run with his tenacity and prowess behind the wheel of his No. 55jr stock car.

Last Saturday at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala he started pole, battled for the lead with Mike Stalnaker early and then fought off a soft right rear tire to finish second.

Devin started from the pole after winning his heat.  Stalnaker started outside of the front row and the pair put on a show for the fans in the early stages of the event as Devin tried to hang onto the top spot.  Eventually, they touched and Devin spun into the berm.

Stalnaker had to pit for a tire but Devin was able to continue and was given back the lead.  Now he had Eric Moon behind him and hungry for a win.

Unbeknownst to him, he also had a right rear tire going down as a result of a hole from the contact with the berm.

This resulted in the car “pushing up” into the turn after the restart and Moon grabbing the lead.  Devin did his best to fight back but the flattening tire resulted in him losing the car’s handling and he had to settle for a hard earned second place.

“I want to congratulate Eric on his win,” Devin said afterwards.  “He ran a really good race. After the contact with Mike I guess the tire was going flat because the car just wouldn’t turn.  Thank God for a safe race and thanks to my team and my sponsors for hanging in there with us through our ups and downs this year.  Tonight was a great race it just wasn’t our turn to win.  We’ll see about changing the outcome next time!”
