MOORESVILLE, N.C. – official team release —

Robby Lyons has teamed up with Chad Finley Racing and will race the full CARS Super Late Model Tour schedule in 2015.

The 26-year-old driver originally from Clearwater, Fla., a Legends Car standout, has signed with CFR for the 2015 racing season and will compete full-time in the 10-race CARS schedule beginning on March 28 at Southern National Motorsports Park in Kenly, N.C. The four-tenths-mile semi-banked paved oval in the Tar Heel State will mark Lyons’ debut in a super late model.

“I know 2015 is going to bring a new set of challenges, but for those that know me, I feed off challenges. I can’t wait to start testing and see what these incredible machines can do,” said Lyons. “I’m definitely going to be listening and learning as much as I can, I’m excited to race with some of the most talented drivers in the Southeast, and the nation. I feel the biggest challenge will be generating the patience needed to withstand the longer distance of these races, and physically when it comes to the longer green flag runs, and just the overall structure of the race.”

Lyons will be the first driver to join the new Driver Development program started by Chad Finley Racing and 220 Ventures.

“I was ecstatic to get the call from Chad and I’m so excited about working with the team,” said Lyons. “I’m honored to be a CFR development driver, I feel like both myself and the CFR team will bring to the table all the ingredients needed to compete at the highest level in 2015.”

“CFR has a commitment to being the best, both on and off-track. From the preparation at the new shop in the heart of racing country, to the many short tracks in the Southeast, all the way to the 1.5 mile speedways that are in the nearing future. I couldn’t be happier to call CFR my new home,” said Lyons. “My goal for 2015 with CFR is to reach the goals set by my team and myself, as well as earning the respect of my crew, my team owner and fellow competitors. I can’t wait for March; it’s going to be a great season and a great year. I’m ready to kick it into high gear.”
