Little Valley Speedway Set For 2014 Campaign

LITTLE VALLEY, NY — official speedway release — Photo — Little Valley Speedway, the half mile dirt oval, located on the grounds of the Little Valley Fairgrounds, has put together an intense fan and racer friendly five race schedule for 2014.

The “Specials Only” format starts at 6:30 on Sunday, May 25th, with the traditional Memorial Day Late Model Special, sponsored by Close Racing Supply, featuring the Super Late Models contesting a $3000 to win payout.

Also on the card will be the BRP Can Am Series, which will be presenting the first annual Mike “Duke” Duclon Memorial. Duclon was a dedicated long time employee of Close Racing Supply, who was instrumental in the design of the current BRP 360 Late Models. The Crate Late Models, E-mods, and Street Stocks will also race on the busy opening night.

Following the Super Spring Special, sponsored by Randy’s Collision and Used Cars on June 13 at 7:00, again featuring the Super Late Models, the annual Freedom Daze Late Model Special, sponsored by NAPA, will take to the track on Thursday, July 3 at 7:00, with another fan favorite program. Along with the Super Late Models, the BRP CanAm series will present the Brock Young Memorial, paying $1422 to win and the Crate Late Models will vie for the Bill Law Memorial trophy.

The E-Mods and Street Stocks will complete the card. Fireworks will complete the evening. NAPA, the sponsor for the evening will be presenting some special gifts that night, including several mechanics tool boxes, complete with tools, on this holiday racing program.

After a break for the Cattaraugus County Fair, the track is back in action on August 23rd, for the Late Summer Special, sponsored by Coke of Buffalo, when the NDRL $3,000 to win Super Late Model Special hits the track. The Crate Late Models, 360 Late Models, E-Mods, and Street Stocks will complete the night’s activities.

The curtain comes down on Saturday, September 13th, (rain date- Sep. 14) with the popular WNY Super Late Model and 358 Modified Double Header, sponsored by Killbuck Outlet.

This show features the season championship for the Super Late Models, plus the 358 Modifieds, where regulars from Merrittville and Ransomville, along with other regional 358 pilots will vie for a $2,000 to win purse. The BRP CanAm Series and the Street Stock season championship will complete the evening.

Adult admission for all shows is $14 for adults, with those on under 12 admitted free. Little Valley Speedway offers a scenic setting, a covered grandstand with stadium seats, free camping with hookups on the grounds, and great food at reasonable prices, along with the high speed action at the only true half mile dirt track in the region.

The Little Valley Fairgrounds are located on Rt. 353, in Little Valley, NY, just a few miles north of the Salamanca exit of I-86 and eight miles west of the resort town of Ellicottville. Other area attractions include the Seneca Salamanca Casino and Alleghany State Park, the jewel of the New York state Park system.
