LONG ISLAND, N.Y. — Story by Race Chaser Online New England Correspondent Kyle Souza — Seekonk Speedway Photo —
With the snowflakes coming down up in New England, some news has come out of the Tri Track Open Modified Series.
The series now has its first official Long Island entry, a New York-based modified team that will see Dave Sapienza behind the wheel.
This will be Sapienza’s second try at the Tri Track Open Modified Series, after he ran the final race of the trio at Seekonk Speedway last July and missed a qualifying spot by just four positions on the track.
Sapienza is a long-time modified campaigner who has won races at the famed Riverhead Raceway oval. He is expected to be one to watch during all three of the races in 2015. He has also filed an entry to compete in the point fund this season, as he attempts to grab the $10,000 prize.
The Tri Track Open Modified Series will be in competition at Lee USA Speedway on May 17, Monadnock Speedway on June 13 and Seekonk Speedway on July 1st.
Any drivers looking to file their entry for the 2015 campaign should send their request to James Schaefer via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact him via his Facebook.
