Oswego Speedway: Start Times Announced For 2015 Season

Oswego Speedway’s 2015 race dates were announced last fall, with start times for those events now being revealed beginning with the 65th season opener on Saturday, May 9.

Grandstand gates will open to the public at the start of warm-ups in all scenarios listed below.

Event times for the May 9 opener, which includes the Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series Richie Evans Memorial, and the May 23 Port City ‘Super Spectacle’ will be identical.

Pit gates will open at 11:30 a.m., with warm-ups beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Novelis Supermodified and Pathfinder Bank SBS time trials will take place at 4 p.m. on May 9, with only the ISMA Supermodifieds time trialing on May 23, also at 4 p.m.

Heat racing on each night will begin at 5 p.m. Race haulers will be required to be removed from the pit area on May 9 and May 23 due to the extensive number of entries expected at each event.

Weekly start times will remain the same as in previous years with pit gates opening at 2 p.m., warm-ups at 4 p.m., and heat racing at 6:30 p.m.

Weekly race nights following this time schedule include the May 30 Spring Championship, June 6, Christmas in July on July 4, the July 18 Summer Championship, the 65th Anniversary special on August 8 with $5 admission, and the Small Block Super Twin 20’s on August 22.

Autograph nights scheduled for the Supermodified Twin 35’s on June 20 as well as August 15 will follow the same schedule, with the only change being warm-ups starting at 3:30 p.m.

ISMA Supermodified events scheduled for June 13 as well as King of Wings VII on July 11 will see pit gates open at 1:30 p.m., followed by warm-ups at 3 p.m., time trials at 5 p.m., and heat racing at 6:30 p.m.

Budweiser International Classic Weekend will follow the same model as in 2014.

‘Fast Friday’s’ action on September 4 will see pit gates open at 10 a.m. with warm-ups beginning at 11:30 a.m. Pathfinder Bank ‘Super 6’ SBS time trials will begin at 6 p.m. followed by Novelis Supermodified ‘Fast 14’ time trials and then RoC Modified heat races.

‘Super Saturday’ on September 5 will open pit gates at 1:30 p.m. with warm-ups at 3 p.m. and heat racing at 5 p.m.

‘Classic Sunday’ on September 6, featuring the 59th annual Budweiser International Classic 200 for Novelis Supermodifieds, will open pit gates at 7:30 a.m. with warm-ups beginning at 9:30 a.m. Second round time trials will then take to the Speedway at Noon.

Race of Champions Weekend returns to a Friday-Saturday format in 2015, with pit gates open at 2:30 p.m. on September 18, warm-ups at 4 p.m., and racing at 6 p.m.

The Speedway’s season finale, featuring the Race of Champions 200 and the Novelis Supermodified Fall Championship 75 on September 19, will open pit gates at 11 a.m., start warm-ups at 1 p.m., with racing action slated for 3 p.m.
