RaceChaserOnline.com owner and CEO Tom Baker and Turn 5 Live Host and Co-Founder Steven Ovens are proud to announce that, effective immediately, Race Chaser Online/Turn 5 Live have been named the Official Media Outlet of the Grit Racing Series based out of Upstate New York.

Screen Shot 2015-01-10 at 9.17.55 AMThe Grit Racing Series is a traveling 602 Crate Sportsman Dirt Modified series based out of Groton, New York that travels to dirt tracks across the Northeast.  The series focuses on those racers that utilize the 602 Crate engine package from General Motors that are strapped into Northeast Dirt Modifieds.

Sportsman Modified competition rests only 2 levels of Dirt Modified racing below the highest level in the sport- just behind the 358 Small-Block Modifieds and the Big-Block Modifieds of the Super DIRTcar Series.  Crate Sportsman competition is some the closest Dirt Modified racing you will find in the Northeast.  The Crate Sportsman also provides an affordable option to teams that want to race Dirt Modifieds, but are not able to operate on a Big-Block Modified budget.

“This is a really big deal not only for Turn 5 Live but for Race Chaser Online and the Grit Racing Series,” said Ovens about Friday’s announcement.

“What is great about RCO/T5 partnering with Grit is that this benefits each individual party in bringing the exciting racing action, news and results of the Grit Series to each of our audiences.  It also allows the Grit Series drivers and teams the opportunity to get additional exposure on Turn 5 Live as well as in front of Race Chaser Online’s national audience.”

Race Chaser Online, like the Grit Racing Series, came onto the racing scene in 2013 as a national motorsports news website based out of Charlotte, NC.  Baker, originally of Oswego, NY, brought on Ovens as a Northeast Dirt Track Correspondent in July 0f 2013 to expand the website’s daily coverage of dirt track racing.  The website, paired with its Social Media presence on Facebook and Twitter, is now a central hub for written articles, audio interviews, live wireless mobile radio, photos and videos from race events all across the country and beyond.

Race Chaser Online is home to industry insiders from NASCAR, Indy Car, F1, World of Outlaws, V8 Super Cars, Supermodifieds, Go-Karts, Drag Racing and now iRacing.  Turn 5 Live is the dirt track racing arm of the Race Chaser Online weekly wireless mobile radio coverage that is featured weekly on the Performance Motorsports Network.  The expanded coverage was part of the vision from Co-Founder and Vice President Nick Stark.

“Turn 5 has been a great advocate for the sport and I love the excitement they put forth with what they do,” said Stark after naming Racer Chaser Online/Turn 5 Live official media outlet of the Grit Racing Series.

“It’s a passion and a love for racing that drives us, that’s why it’s a great pairing.  I can’t wait for this season.”

The third season of Grit Racing Series competition kicks off Saturday April 18th with the ‘Cabin Fever 64’ during Jan Corcoran Memorial Weekend at the Canandaigua Motorsports Park.  You can find more information by racing over to www.gritracingseries.com
