HARTFORD, Conn. — staff report —

Andrew Palmer and Jorge De La Torre remain hospitalized following a crash during the warm-up laps of Saturday afternoon’s Pirelli World Challenge round at Lime Rock Park.

During that warm-up session, De La Torre’s Aston Martin had come to a stop at the runoff area in turn one, where it was impacted by Palmer’s Bentley GT3. Palmer’s car launched over the top of De La Torre’s, coming to rest in a wooded area near the track.

Bentley Motorsport later confirmed in a team statement that Palmer suffered a head injury in the crash, while Aston Martin Racing released that De La Torre’s injuries included “a number of fractures and bruising to the torso.”

Both drivers continue to receive treatment for their injuries at Hartford Hospital.
