It appears Mother Nature just did not want to see any racing at the Action Track of the East this weekend. The Seekonk Speedway was forced to postpone the annual D. Anthony Venditti Memorial weekend to due to the impending weather forecast that calls for damp, wet and brisk conditions over the course of the weekend.
The events have not been cancelled — but instead rescheduled. The annual racing action will be held on October 16 and 17, a Friday night and Saturday afternoon that is sure to be full with action.
Friday night will include the normal Fast Friday divisions, headlined by the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends and the Pure Stock classes. Jordan Lamothe and Andrew Kun, who picked up championships in the respective divisions, will be leading their cast into the event full speed ahead. Friday night will also include the Seekonk Youth Racing Association and Sport 4 divisions.
Saturday afternoon action will be headlined by a $5,000 to win NASCAR Whelen All American Series Pro Stock feature event. The 100 lap affair is expected to draw the top Northeast drivers to the Cement Palace for intense battling around the 1/3 mile oval. The Late Models, Street Stocks and Sports Trucks will also join in on the season finale.
Track employees are urged to call the office to inform staff of their availability for that weekend. For more information, including the schedule of events, fans can visit www.seekonkspeedway.com
