LOUDON, N.H. — staff report — Nick Laham/Getty Images¬†photo — Kyle Busch shattered the track record and won the Coors Light Pole Qualifying Award on Friday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Camping World RV Sales 301.

This was Busch’s second pole of the season (his first was at Martinsville) and his second at the New England track.

Lining up second to Busch will be six-time Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson, whose speed of 137.790 wasn’t quite good enough to surpass ‘Rowdy’, who blistered the “Magic Mile” with a quick lap of 138.130 mph.

Denny Hamlin, Tony Stewart and Jamie McMurray rounded out the top five.

Friday’s qualifying was a two-round event. Notable drivers that did not advance to the final round were Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kurt Busch, Kyle Larson, Brian Vickers, Austin Dillon, Ryan Newman, Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle.

The Camping World RV Sales 301 will take place Sunday at 1 p.m. ET with coverage on TNT.
