Yates County Speedway will pay tribute to its champions on Friday, January 30th.  The 2014 Yates County Speedway banquet will be held at the Holiday Inn Elmira Riverview.

Track Champions in all divisions will be honored for their efforts in the 2014 racing season.  They are Casey Pavlick (Sportsman), Jeremy Potrzebowski (Street Stock), Rich Karlnoski (IMCA), Scott Bradley (4 Cylinders), Brian Knowles (Late Models), Darryl Ruggles (305 Sprints) and Allison Teed (Bandits).

Tickets for the festive event are $35 apiece and are available by sending a check to Yates County Speedway, P.O. Box 375, Kirkwood, New York 13795.  All track employees will receive a $5 discount.

Cocktail hour will begin at 6:00 p.m. followed by a buffet style dinner at 7:00 p.m.  Awards presentations will take place from 8:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  Creekside Entertainment will keep the party going until 11:00 p.m.

The all you wish to eat buffet dinner will feature glazed baked ham, marinated grilled chicken, baked penne pasta with marinara and asiago cheese, mashed potatoes, corn, macaroni salad, potato salad, Caesar salad and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

In addition to the track champions, the top ten in the Sportsman, Street Stocks, IMCA Modifieds and Four Cylinders will be recognized for their accomplishments along with the top three drivers in the Late Models, 305 Sprints and Bandits. There will also be special awards handed out for Best Appearing Car, Rookie of the Year and Hard Luck Drivers.

The Holiday Inn Riverview will offer a discounted room rate for anyone interested in spending the night following the banquet. There are a limited amount of rooms available so be sure to reserve your  room early if you plan on spending the night.

The awards banquet will certainly be unique as it will be the only one to ever be held under the Yates County Speedway name.  The track will be leased to someone else in 2015.  Promoter Dan Harpell will address the series of events that led to that end result during his closing remarks, and all of the rumors will be put to rest.

Make your plans now to attend the first and only Yates County Speedway Awards Banquet on Friday, January 30th at the Holiday Inn Riverview in Elmira, New York.
