NORTHEAST: Busy Offseason For Ransomville Speedway Drivers

The changing of the guard continues at Ransomville Speedway as several drivers announce their intentions for the 2015 season.

Two of those drivers will be returning to the 358 Modified class. Scott George of Wilson, NY ran the class in he mid-2000’s. Boyd MacTavish of Ransomville, NY also ran the headlining division for a while before moving back down to Sportsman due to financial reasons. MacTavish will also be back in the top class at Ransomville Speedway. Both drivers will be welcome additions to an already talented 358 Modified class. George is a 2003 Ransomville Speedway Investors Service Sportsman champion. The two time King of the Hill Sportsman champion has been busy the last two years. Not only having his own team, but also operating Ransomville Speedway Thursday night go-kart programs for son Zachary and daughter Greenley.
Both George and MacTavish each had one victory at Ransomville Speedway in 2014 and are looking forward to the challenges ahead.
Another driver moving up to the Modifieds is Kenny Wills.  Wills has experience in the mini-sprints as well as a few wins last year in the Van Raine Construction Novice Sportsman class.  Wills is the nephew of Sportsman campaigner Kevin Wills and cousin to another Sportsman pilot Allan Wills.
The Go-Kart program has certainly done its’ job as two drivers will be moving up to the Investors Service Sportsman class. The two are graduates of the Thursday night program, Brett  Senek and Austin Susice.
Senek was a rookie in the Ki-Po Chevrolet Street Stocks last season and enjoyed two wins. Senek would enjoy a very successful season earning second in points and rookie of the year honors.  Susice is the cousin of Brett Senek.  Susice captured the title in the Gippsters Collision 4 Banger division in 2013 and is very excited about the opportunity to race in the open wheel ranks weekly. Both drivers gave Sportsman a try in 2014 utilizing borrowed cars to campaign in the Van Raine Construction Novice class on a few occastions.

The annual Membership and rules is scheduled for Sunday, February 8th at the Lewiston #2 Fire Hall in Niagara Falls, NY on 1705 Saunders Settlement Road.  Please see the website for times and further details.
