EPPING. N.H. – official release — After battling steady rain showers throughout the day on Saturday, Star Speedway officials have announced that the International Supermodified Ass’n (ISMA) Star Classic has been postponed until Sunday.
Pit gates are scheduled to open at 10 a.m. EST and racing is scheduled to resume at noon.
Prior to the first rain shower, ISMA stars were able to complete two 30-minute practice sessions to dial their machines in for the 150-lap event. Twenty-four cars took time in practice and will attempt to qualify for Sunday’s main event.
Defending Star Classic winner Jon McKennedy and defending ISMA champion Lou Cicconi led the way in the two practice sessions on the quarter-mile bullring. Cicconi recorded the fastest time of the day with a 11.475 second lap. He was the only driver to break the 11.5 second mark.
